Ed Catmul and the Pixar Way
I’ve always been in love with animation. I’d love to one day direct or write an animated film, something with heart, action and suspense, like Brad Bird.
The guys at Pixar have always done things right, and if you haven’t seen The Pixar Story yet, I highly suggest you go watch it.
In the meantime, I found these two videos on the 11SecondClub forums, Ed Catmull, John Lasseter and the late Steve Jobs, describing how Pixar works and how they put story first, something a lot of films should stop and do.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just wanted to post a quick message, amongst all my turkey, stuffing and the all important NFL games.
I’ve been lucky enough to deal with a fantastic and creative crew over the past six months while developing my reel. The next few months are going to be interesting as I finish my reel, attempt to get signed with a production company, develop a crime thriller web series that we plan to shoot in early 2012 and continue to direct commercials.
Slight Server Mishap.
My web hosting company seemed to have a hard drive failure these past few days which made my site go offline while they tried to bring it back.
Luckily, they were able to recover everything and the only thing missing was a few blog posts and tweaks I was in the middle of doing.
I’m back online now though! Sorry to inconvenience anyone who tried to get here during the past few days.

New Behind The Scenes Photos
I posted about 70 Behind the Scenes photos taken on the day of the Dorito’s “Puppy Eyes” shoot.
I had a really great group of people to work with, and I promise, sometime this week I’m going to write a post mortem about it and a few of my past spots as well.
A lot has happened over the past six months since I decided to jump into the waters and just start directing, and I think it warrants a blog post to wrap up my journey.
In the meantime, check out the gallery of photos.
Well, that sucked!
Due to a security flaw in Wordpress, my site was hacked and infected. The only course of action was to delete everything and start over.
So, here we are. I guess this just makes me a big advocate for updating wordpress as often as possible and making sure that the themes you install are legit. Also, keep up to date on your plugins.
I guess having a back up of the site would be cool too. I’ll probably start doing a weekly back up, just in case. Rather safe than sorry.

I direct commercials, web series and films. I have a passion for screenwriting and storytelling.
